Three Lions Team Selection Announced: Bellingham and Foden Left Out, Saka Returns
The England manager has opted to stick with the same England squad that secured victory against their previous opponents and delivered an impressive performance in Serbia last month, leaving no room for Jude Bellingham and the Manchester City attacker in his selection for the upcoming friendly against Wales and the qualifying match in Latvia.
Despite Foden making a strong case for a recall after rediscovering his form at his club, and Bellingham having made a comeback for Real Madrid following a surgical procedure, the national team manager has decided against selecting two of the country's most prominent offensive stars. Bellingham has started only once for his club since his comeback.
Tuchel has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been restored in place of his unavailable Arsenal teammate Noni Madueke. Jack Grealish has not been handed a recall.

Tuchel highlighted the vibrancy in last month's squad and seems intent on keeping the same atmosphere. Tino Livramento, who started at the defensive flank in the 5-0 win in Serbia, has dropped out due to a knock. Tuchel has opted against selecting a direct replacement for the Magpies star but has selected the Manchester City defender, who had to pull out last month. He has spoken about the Manchester City defender's significance for England and has floated the idea of deploying him in the middle of the park.
No spot has been found for Adam Wharton, who was selected in the previous squad but withdrew due to injury and was substituted by the Milan player.
Tuchel said: “It was only three weeks since the previous gathering and the last win, the latest display, so the question was why not select the identical squad in because they set the standard. Now it is about creating habits out of it. We have regrettably a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Tino and Noni and we welcome of course Bukayo Saka in to take the place of Noni. Jarell Quansah was a late call-up previously; he will stay in camp.”
